7. The Falcon Expansion, Carcassonne: The Castle  ($60-$80)

The Falcon Expansion board game is a very small expansion for one of the best Out of Print Carcassonne editions, The Castle. This expansion is so rare, that it was only printed in Poland. Hence, the non-English words on the box. Luckily if somehow you do get your hands on a copy, you can print the English Rules online. In the expansion, the young Prince has developed an interest in falconry, leading to the presence of numerous falcon nests within the castle walls. Additionally, religion has arrived at the castle, introducing the opportunity to construct chapels within its confines. Adds more ways to lay out tiles and build points within the castle walls.

6. Embers of a Forsaken Star, Xia: Legends of a Drift System ($120-$150)

After you spend hundreds of dollars on the base game of Xia: Legends of a Drift System, you now need to expand your horizons with Embers of a Forsaken Star Expansion. Last I saw, there was one copy on Amazon for around $150. So everyone reading this, don't rush out of your seats to buy it because its probably gone now. haha. Technically you wouldn't have to leave your seats, just open another browser. Anyways, the expansion adds on new sector tiles, mission cards, ships, a solo campaign, etc.

I can't believe that the expansions of out of print board games can be worth just as much or more than the base game. I've been privileged enough to own some of these expansions without having to mortgage my house. Have you played any of these expansions or the base games for these games? What are some other great out of print expansions that we need to play? Happy Gaming!
