Description:

Catan Histories: Struggle for Rome is a fresh take on the Settlers of Catan series, akin to the Settlers historical scenarios. Set on a fixed map of southern Europe, players represent Germanic tribes advancing towards Rome with two armies each, starting from the northeastern corner. These armies traverse the board, pillaging cities for resources. The game's narrative unfolds during a time when the vast Roman Empire, stretching from Great Britain to North Africa and from Spain across the Black Sea, faces the threat of barbarian invasions. As a barbarian ruler, you command swift horsemen and fierce warriors, aiming to plunder the wealthy Roman cities. You must outmaneuver rival princes, strategically amassing wealth and resources to establish your own kingdom before your warriors tire. The game's ultimate challenge is to determine whether you can conquer and forge a new kingdom from the remnants of Rome or vanish into the annals of history. Your destiny is to inherit the storied glory of Rome.
