Frosthaven tells the tale of a small outpost far north of the capital city of White Oak, struggling to survive the harsh weather and invasions from known and unknown forces. A group of mercenaries, desperate and on the brink, must revive this settlement from the verge of destruction. They will contend with the unforgiving elements and far more dangerous threats, including the Algox, larger yeti-like cousins of the Inox attacking from the mountains, Lurkers flooding in from the northern sea, and rumors of autonomous machines roaming the frozen wastes. The mercenaries must face these perils and perhaps forge peace with these new races to unite against even more sinister forces. Frosthaven, a standalone adventure from the creators of Gloomhaven, introduces sixteen new characters, three new races, over twenty new enemies, more than a hundred new items, and a new 100-scenario campaign. Items and characters from Gloomhaven are compatible with Frosthaven. Alongside Gloomhaven's renowned combat mechanics, Frosthaven offers numerous non-combat activities, including solving mysteries, experiencing seasonal events, and expanding the village, with each new building providing new progression opportunities. Resources in Frosthaven are more valuable, necessitating a crafting system to create items rather than simply purchasing them, and items from Gloomhaven can be imported to this remote location.
